PCOS Pre-Diabetes Nutrition

PCOS-Pre-Diabetes-Diabetes-Insulin Resistance Nutrition Study starting 10-01-2020

The goal of this diet is to make lifestyle changes to reverse or lower the symptoms of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and/or pre-diabetes, diabetes type 2.

Both PCOS and pre-diabetes are conditions that are effected by insulin resistance.

Insulin resistance is defined as:

Insulin resistance is when cells in your muscles, fat, and liver don’t respond well to insulin and can’t easily take up glucose from your blood. As a result, your pancreas makes more insulin to help glucose enter your cells. NIDDK

Pre-Diabetes is defined as:

Prediabetes means your blood glucose levels are higher than normal but not high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes. Prediabetes usually occurs in people who already have some insulin resistance or whose beta cells in the pancreas aren’t making enough insulin to keep blood glucose in the normal range. Without enough insulin, extra glucose stays in your bloodstream rather than entering your cells. Over time, you could develop type 2 diabetes. NIDDK

PCOS is defined as:

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder common among women of reproductive age. Women with PCOS may have infrequent or prolonged menstrual periods or excess male hormone (androgen) levels. The ovaries may develop numerous small collections of fluid (follicles) and fail to regularly release eggs. Mayo Clinic

Results from Last Study:

30 women entered the study, 29 completed. Average weight loss was 12 pounds, everyone lost weight, everyone reported less symptoms, 4 became pregnant during or after the study. Highest weight loss was near 30 pounds.

Cost: $65

Supplements for Study:

If you are going to be in the study, at a minimum you need level-1 meal replacement protein.

I prefer every member to also use GDA (Glucose Disposal Agent), now this works similar to metformin. If you are new to metformin, do not add GDA, if you have been on metformin for an extended amount of time, please have a convo with me privately.

Opti-Greens 50 had a lot of benefits to those who have blood sugar issues, they also help with bloat and weight loss.

  1. To reduce insulin resistance by reducing sugars and simple carbohydrates to give pancreas a “cool-off” period. This will aid in weight loss and symptom reduction.
  2. To help the patient lose weight.
  3. To create a lifestyle that is sustainable for the patient.

  1. Intermittent Fasting: We will be using 14 hours (minimum, 14-16 optimal) to create an insulin downtime. This will give the body ample resources to fully digest food and to create stasis within the body.
  2. Lower Carb/High Protein: We will be following a lower carb diet that will help decrease the role of insulin within the body. This will allow the body to better use glucose as fuel.
  3. Keto: Another option that has positive studies on is keto. This is a super low carb diet.

I will be providing free workouts for members of the study.
